to Debut New Sponsors
By AJB Motorsports Marketing
Spokane, WA (April 25, 2006) – As the Inland Northwest Super Stock
Association (INSSA) is getting ready to embark on it's third year of
racing Saturday April 29th, the association is proud to announce the
signing of multiple marketing partners for the 2006 season.
Starting the 2006 campaign with a bang will be promotional opportunities
with the weekly radio show the Speed Sport Report. In addition to the
Speed Sport Report, Hooters restaurant in the Spokane Valley, Steelhead
Bar & Grille, opening soon in downtown Spokane, KC Auto Paint, with
locations in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, and Physical Therapy Associates,
located at 30th & Grand are among some of the marketing partners already
on board for the 2006 season. Returning for their third season will be
Windermere Real Estate. Windermere, in their brand new office on Country
Homes Boulevard near Division, has been a great supporter of the series
since its inaugural season. Sunoco Race Fuels will also be back for the
2006 season, as well the addition of Five Star Racing Products.
The Speed Sport Report, heard every Saturday morning at 9 am on 790 the
FAN is hosted by racer Tony Villelli and Ken Spatz. Bringing you up to
speed on all the racing action the past week from Nascar, Indy Cars, and
Formula One for four years now, a relationship with INSSA will put an
increased emphasis on the local racing scene. "I am really excited to
see how our organizations can work together in an effort to help promote
racing in general. If we get more local fans and sponsors excited about
motorsports, it will benefit everyone," said Villelli. Tune in this
Saturday to hear from 2005 INSSA Champion Kevin Richard and runner-up
Dan Garber.
The Hooters restaurant chain has a clear connection to the motorsports
arena on the east coast and will continue their involvement with
competitive stock car racing this year with INSSA. "Hooters has a
terrific reputation of motorsports involvement and we are thrilled to
have them on board for the 2006 season,” said Bruce Garber, President of
INSSA. The newly opened Hooters restaurant is located on Indiana Ave,
just off of Sullivan Road in the Spokane Valley.
INSSA is also very proud to be teaming up with these marketing partners
to put the spotlight on several deserving local charities in an effort
to increase awareness and support. Spokane Guilds’ School Foundation,
Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Morning Star Boys Ranch, and the Spokane
Humane Society will be among the featured community organizations who
will be VIP guests at some of the INSSA races throughout the season. In
addition to being honored guests, INSSA and the marketing partners will
be donating a portion of the marketing funds to the charities. INSSA is
proud to support the great organizations that support our community.
Set to kick off the 2006 season this Saturday, the list of drivers for
this year’s season reads like a who's who of Inland Northwest stock car
racing. Returning to defend the 2005 title will be Kevin Richards, a
former winner on NASCAR’s Grand National West Series. Richards won five
races in route to a seat at the head table at last year’s banquet. With
support from McClintock & Turk and Rent Rite, look for the black #14 car
to be up front again this year.
Also returning this season is the 2005 points runner-up by just nine
points, and the 2004 Champion of this series, Dan Garber. The Spokane
Chimney and Masonry, Hot Boat Magazine #95 closed out the 2005 campaign
in impressive fashion. There was no one hotter, with Garber amassing
three wins in the final four races.
Dave Garber, who was winless in 2005, posted seven podium finishes
during the season to finish in the 3rd points position, just 68 points
out of the top spot. Garber is hoping to redeem himself in 2006, with
Poker Run Magazine & Drew Marine Racing Engines as new sponsors on the
car and a new power plant under the hood.
The only other driver to win a 2005 INSSA series race is hoping to start
the year this season in the same fashion. Mike Behar, driver of the #33
River City Solid Surface and Custom Welding and Fabrication Chevy Monte
Carlo debuted a car new to him at the first race of last season, and won
in the early year, colder temperatures.
The 2006 INSSA series will kick off this Saturday night, April 29th at
the Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho. INSSA officials are
expecting a full field of cars this weekend, so be sure to arrive early
and catch all the action. Gates will open at 12 pm, practice at 2,
racing at 7 pm.
