Garber Takes Home Windermere 100

POST FALLS, IDAHO – July 23, 2006 – Dan Garber won his second Inland Northwest Super Stock Series main event of the season Saturday night at Stateline Speedway. Garber took the lead half way through the event to capture the Windermere 100 and a huge boost as the leader in the point standings.

Bill Belton led from the pole for nearly half the race’s distance as faster cars moved from the back of the back forward. After repaving the bottom portion of the track in June, a second groove developed allowing side-by-side racing.

Garber with fast time setter Mike Behar and Andy Brown used the outside line to navigate to the front. Garber led the way nudging past brother Dave, racing for a car owner out of Lewiston, Idaho, and heat and dash winner Jack Morse to get into position.

By lap sixty, Garber had cleared leader Belton for the top spot with Behar a close second. A final caution with thirty laps remaining allowed Behar to make one last charge for the lead. However, Garber pulled away with ten laps to go to claim his second win of the season.

Behar, for the second time this year, was the runner up. Brown claimed third with Belton taking home forth after leading the majority of the race. Tony Berry won the B Heat.

The INSSA series returns in two weeks part of the seventh annual running of the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200, August 4,5,6th. Drivers from the series, along with other Northwest Late Model and Super Stock drivers will compete during Friday night’s INSSA Duel for the 200 race presented by KC Auto Paint. Dan Garber won the event in 2005.

Justin Robideaux won the Early Stock main event, dash, and A Heat over Nick McLendon and Richard Cox. Ken Uttke led the 25-lap main event but spun while leading.

Aaron Nevers bounced back from an early incident in the dash races to claim the Street Stocks 25-lap main over Nathan Fleurry and Darryl Carillio. Randy Lasswell won the dash and finished fourth.

The wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever continues Wednesday at 6pm with Fever 4’s, Road Runners, plus the cars and superstars of the Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.

On Saturday, the Northwest Legends Series returns for their final race of the 2006 season at Stateline Speedway. Nick Carey won the Semi-Pro race in June. Winged Sprints and Hobby cars are also set to compete. Time trials start at 6pm racing at 7:30. Family admission, two adults and up to three children under the age of 16, is $20.
