Brown Dominates INSSA 100

Andy Brown

POST FALLS, IDAHO – June 25, 2006 – Andy Brown led all 100-laps of the Inland Northwest Super Stocks Series’ third race of the season Saturday night at Stateline Speedway in Post Falls.

Brown, a past champion in multiple divisions, held off point leader Dan Garber and Ephrata’s Christian Roeder for his first INSSA win in a dominating fashion.

Brown, a strong supporter and sponsor of racing in the Inland Northwest from entry level to late models, launched to the lead after a opening lap collision fest.

The opening lap caution sent parts flying with Jeff Fenton, Roader and Montana’s Bodie Morton suffering body damage. Redmond, Washington’s Tony Berry exited the track to the pits for repair.

Passing was at a minimum on the outside line as new asphalt provided the fastest line on the bottom.

Fast time driver Dave Garber, who ran a lap time a half of second faster than normal, and Roeder attempted to use the second, outside groove, but fell back as passing on the inside was preferred.

Brown held off charges by Dan Garber late in the race to pick of his first INSSA win dedicating it to longtime local engine builder Rod Allard who passed away last week after suffering a stroke.

Garber finished second padding his points lead with Roeder, a Late Model Challenge Series driver, third. Jeff Fenton and dash winner Mike Behar rounded out the top five.

After 15 years of competing at Stateline Speedway in Hobby Stocks, Spokane’s JC Ward piloted his car past returning champion Rob Ballard and point’s leader Brian Husk for the Hobby Cars 20-lap main. Ward also won a heat with Dave Harrison and Dan Johnston claiming the heat and dash checkers.

Richard Cox set fast time and powered by Terry Armstrong to claim the 20-lap Early Stock main. Four members of the Wilson family finished in the top ten.

The wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever continues Wednesday at 6pm with Fever 4’s, Road Runners, plus the cars and superstars of the Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.

Saturday Stateline Speedway presents the “Stock Car Spectacular” featuring the return of the Outlaw Street Stocks, Road Runners, and Hobby Cars. Qualifying starts at 6pm racing at 7:30pm. General admission is $10 for adults, $25 admits a family.

Monday, July 3rd plays host to the annual Demolition Derby and Fireworks extravaganza event. Tickets are on sale now at the Stateline Speedway ticket gate on raceday and at Les Schwab Tires in Post Falls. Demolition derby drivers will vie for a $1500 winning prize.
